1. Triple our economic contribution to the local area

Each year, we are working with Oxford Brookes University to measure our economic impact.

Highlights of our progress in 2017/18:

  • Our second Economic Impact report (2017/18) showed that our economic impact was 4% (£3m) down compared to the 2016/17 report. This was due to fewer property developments (-£5.5m) and a scaled-back BBC Countryfile Show (-£1.4m). Excluding these 2 elements, we grew by about 4.4%. This is positive and shows us growing well above inflation.
  • Generated £87.6m GVA (Gross Value Added).
  • 42% of our spend is now within a 20-mile radius.
  • First Blenheim Start-Up Competition.
  • Promotion of the local area to drive multi-day visits.
