We aim to reduce our impact on the environment, stimulate the local economy and support local communities through all our activities.
By 2025 we aim to reach carbon neutral status by; having 50% of our visitors arrive in a carbon friendly way, generating double the energy we consume and to reduce the carbon footprint of our existing buildings by 25% ...
What is the plan?
We have built an environmental sensor network (which is currently being piloted), to help further our understanding of the surrounding environment and influence a change in behaviour. The network model will have potential to roll out across other areas of the country and once tested, will become open for anyone within our surrounding communities to join.
We will build shared work and social facilities in our communities and join them up with a network of cycle and pedestrian routes across Estate land.
A Natural Capital study will be delivered in partnership with Oxford University and will support the future strategy of how Blenheim manages its 12,000 acres.
Blenheim has formed a partnership with VeloCity, an independently run group who will help shape plans to improve community infrastructure and connectivity.
