Did you go straight into your Apprenticeship from school, if no what did you do previous to this role?

No I didn’t go straight into my apprenticeship - previous to this I was working with a landscaping firm and that's where I knew I wanted to do carpentry

What made you apply for an apprenticeship?

The chance of a paid qualification with good hours a full time career and work close to home

Why did you choose Pye Homes and what attracted you to our apprenticeship scheme?

It was the local site offering a good apprenticeship and overall all seemed to be the perfect company.

What are your key roles/responsibilities?

My key roles are second fix carpentry which is like a final finish which I like because it’s shown off throughout the houses and also general help around the site when needed.

What do you like best about the job?

It’s a good laugh and also it’s something new everyday always different challenges.

How are you finding the apprenticeship and how is it helping you progress?

I think I have progressed a lot and come along quite well. I’m already getting independent and trying on my own and making sure I’m getting stuck in and just giving everything a good go.

What do you hope to gain and once your apprenticeship has finished?

To be a fully qualified tradesmen and that will just set up possible a career for the rest of my life and to just be able to have the knowledge of business and construction sites.
