Tasks & Responsibilities:

Understand daily, weekly and monthly store targets, clearly identifying what this means in terms of sales, profitability, costs, staffing levels and ensuring this information is communicated effectively to the team. Deputies for the Retail manager in their absence. Completing the morning briefs, including a daily deployment planner which will enable you to focus the  team to drive customer service and sales Oversee replenishment of shelves by ensuring the shop floor walk is completed and the replenishment form is taken to the stock room Leading and motivating the team  Managing breaks, always ensuring there is a member of management on the shop floor  Effectively communicating stock levels to the Retail Manager  Ensure the shop is tidy, clean and full at the end of the day Responsible for supporting the Retail Manager with staff training, the induction process and on-going team development through regular coaching and training Ensure all staff are kept up to date on changes to products, offers and promotions Ensure outstanding presentation and visual merchandising standards are maintained at all times Offer quick and efficient service at the tills without compromising customer service Opening, closing and cashing up correctly, ensuring all paperwork for the day has been completed correctly including targets and a comprehensive hand over for the next day  Report all instances of damage and wear and tear to shop fixtures and fittings to the Retail Manager Assist with regular stock takes, adhering to the correct procedures Comply with legislation requirements concerning the sale of food and wine  Ensure all HR and H&S policies and procedures are adhered to Understanding the impact that visual merchandising and balance of price points has on the customer conversion, average spend and gross profit margin results Understanding the principals of link merchandising Prepared to attend training courses both in house and off site
