We Are Creating A Major New Adventure Play Complex

We are creating a giant new outdoor adventure play attraction as part of a major development of our Walled Gardens.

The large-scale attraction will cover a site larger than a football field and celebrate the rich heritage of our 18th century baroque Palace, our surrounding parkland and the natural world.

Utilising natural materials and built to be as sustainable as possible it will incorporate a series of exciting new features aimed at different age groups ranging from toddlers to teenagers.

Designed by renowned Norfolk-based CAP.Co design, the 5,000-metre site will include quirky wooden structures, interactive water features, play trails and winding walkways.

Plans include a viewing platform, an interactive sensory garden walk, and an oversized kitchen garden-inspired secret play area - including giant carrots, sunflowers and plant pots.

At the centre of the new attraction will be a replica of Vanbrugh’s Grand Bridge and a large seating terrace overlooking the central water play feature.

An elevated Wilderness Play area featuring aerial walkways, rope bridges, tunnels and triple racing zip lines will appeal to older children and provide extensive views across our ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland.

There will also be a refreshment kiosk with outdoor seating.

Our new adventure play area will utilise land adjoining our existing Walled Gardens area which is home to the Marlborough Hedge Maze, Butterfly House, Lavender Garden and Pizza Café.

Established in 2014, CAP.Co design and build unique play spaces for clients across the world. Creating organic, natural play that uses the best of what is local, with a skilled and dedicated team.

Our new playground is being built on site by Kidlington-based Kingerlee Ltd and our new attraction is set to open to visitors early next year.
