We're on Track to Train 100 Apprentices
As part of National Apprenticeship Week (7th-13th February) at Blenheim we're on track to achieve our goal of training 100 apprentices within 10 years.
Launched at the end of 2017, our apprenticeship scheme is aimed to train 10 apprentices each year. By the end of last year, and despite the pandemic, 50 apprentices have already either completed, or are currently completing their courses.
We are offering apprenticeships across all our businesses with opportunities in areas as diverse as Game, Farming, HR, Building, Marketing and Customer Service.
“We’re extremely proud of the success of our apprentice scheme, and our apprentices are a valuable asset to Blenheim,” said Megan Carter, our Head of HR.
“It’s important to us that we encourage, nurture and develop individuals at the beginning of their career journey, as it’s these types of frameworks that will shape the future of organisations and their communities,” she added.
National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is the 15th annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships.
The theme for 2022 is 'build the future'; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.
Marketing graduate Ellie Hill applied for the Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship course at Blenheim after finishing her degree because it fit perfectly with her career goals.
“My degree had lightly covered aspects of digital marketing, but I wanted to gain more in-depth knowledge and experience in the field, so the apprenticeship seemed like a great opportunity for me,” she said.
For others, like Nicole Nielsen-Pike, the decision to start an apprenticeship came straight after finishing her GCSEs.
“I applied for an apprenticeship because I was never the most academic individual at school,” she said.
“The fact I could learn on the job and gain an understanding of working life while gaining valuable qualifications and earning money was the perfect choice to me,” she added.
Our apprenticeships start throughout the year and are open to anyone who is over the age of 16 and has completed secondary education.
Working closely with local colleges, we offer apprentices full training in their chosen subject with support and opportunities to grow their education and train to a higher level.
In addition to on-the-job paid experience, successful candidates can gain additional qualifications as well as get help with CVs, interviews and career choices as part of their training.
